Gault et Millau - 2009

Since 1987 Françoise and Denis Clair have worked their 14 hectares of vines essentially located on the appellations Saint-Aubin and Santenay. Constantly improving, the domaine is more and more reknowned and the wine sell faster and faster. Once again this year, the white wines are a real success with a light oaky that doesn't hide the thin matter, although you'll have to wait for two or three years. The Puligny Montrachet La Garenne offers the most density with a nice definition, a bit spicy. The 2006, as with many domaines doesn't have a volume or an imposing richness but keep freshness thanks to extractions that bring out the terroir. Precise wines whose structure should improve over three or four years.
